We have been so touched by the overwhelming support for you all for our beloved Karate Club. The emails & facebook comments we have been receiving with praise and kind words – its incredible. The Kenpo Freestyle Academy is what it is because it consists of parents and students like you all. Thanks to all of you continuing to be involved and participating in classes, we have the best chance for our club to be still standing when the dust clears from this global, terrible situation. We will fight (no pun intended) as hard as we can to manage the health, spatial & financial challenges this poses to all of us. We truly appreciate your support and understanding with our new online classes. We miss seeing you all in person but hopefully soon we will be able to resume a more normal “in person” operation. You will be the first to know.

What are we doing to help?

We at Kenpo Freestyle Academy want to support you and connect through this very difficult and trying time. We want to be there for you like you are for us. So, in light of this we will be providing an extra class for you every week when you prepay – Free of charge. Yes, you read that correctly – you will pay for seven lessons of karate (the usual discount on an 8 week program) and we are providing you with another EIGHT ONLINE lessons to use to help keep you healthy, safe, motivated and closer to your martial arts goals than ever before. #covidsafe

That’s not all .. If you already did two days a week and wish to pay for that still, we are also going to give you another lesson weekly – Free of charge.

We are trying desperately to sort out a solution for online verification and lodgement for AKV’s. We will probably have something working by next weekend – However, if you would like to take advantage of the above offer please feel free to purchase this term and use the active kids voucher next. We are pleased to announce that a new term of online kids martial arts classes is starting this week. We had an excellent turnout at the end of last term and through the school holidays and hundreds of our students were able to successfully grade to keep progressing on their martial arts journey. This has enabled them to keep up with their skills, stay fit, and stay out of their parent’s hair. We hope!

Although it has been a challenge and we are still moving down the learning curve, it is getting smoother and our dedicated instructors and assistants are getting better every day at making the classes fun and interesting for the kids. We have a few adult’s classes every week, including a free one with Sensei Matt that has been popular. “I feel good that I can help to do something good for our Kenpo tribe, during this difficult time”, said Sensei Matt.

The online kids martial arts classes include live feedback, which is rare amongst the online classes currently on offer. Most are simply streaming, with no feedback or coaching. This has really helped us work with the kids and focus on their improvement as the classes are smaller than usual and we have the ability to split them up with our great group of assistants.

Our club was one of the first to focus on martial arts for kids, back in 1994. We have gradually increased our knowledge and skill in this specialty over the past two decades. Great news, Kenpo Freestylers, online kids karate classes now available! Sensei Zoltan and the rest of our instructor team have been working hard to bring Kenpo Freestyle into your home during these difficult times. We can keep ourselves fit, healthy, and on track to achieve our goals, while doing our part to prevent the spread of this awful virus by social distancing. We have most of our instructors teaching these classes several days a week, and you can take part! We will find a way to keep the belt progression going, as the belts, badges, and certificates have already been purchased for this term. Parents, keep your kids active and let them burn off that excess energy with us. We will come out of this stronger than ever. But we need your help. Please support your school by participating, which will keep your instructors employed, and able to pay their bills. We are super excited to launch this service and platform. Please note, at the moment we are only able to load classes two days in advanced and we hope to improve and extend this.Also, it is very important to choose your normal instructor from the choices you see on the website as we have had difficulty with people choosing the wrong classes, and it is difficult to change it.
